This guide is for people who want to build systems

The internet is full of “learn AI” advice, but most of it turns you into a mere tool user. This plan has a different goal: in 6 months, get you to the level where you are not just using artificial intelligence but building AI systems, meaning automations, agents and products that people are willing to pay for.

Think of it this way: AI tools are like musical instruments. In a month you can learn a few chords, but to conduct an orchestra you need to understand how the instruments connect with each other. That is exactly what these 6 months are about, from chords to orchestra.

The plan is built with the logic of a career switcher. Every month has a clear theme, tools, skills, free resources and one mandatory project. Without the project, the month does not count as finished.

1 hour a day, every day

Studying 7 hours once a week does not work. The brain builds skill through repetition, not volume.

Apply what you learn the same day

Test every new piece of knowledge on a real problem the same day: from your work, your life or a friend's business.

Build in public

Show every monthly project: on LinkedIn, Instagram or to your friends. It is both accountability and your future portfolio.

Tools change, the skill does not

Do not cling to a specific tool. You are learning a way of thinking: break the problem down, give AI the right context, verify the result.

Foundations: understand what you are dealing with

Goal: make AI a daily habit and understand how it works under the hood.

• What a language model (LLM) is, how it “thinks” and why it sometimes gets things wrong (hallucinations)

Automation: AI starts working without you

Goal: learn to connect tools to each other so tasks get done on their own. This is where building systems begins.

• What workflow automation is: trigger, step, result
• The logic of APIs in plain language: how programs talk to each other
• Building scenarios in n8n or Make: from a form to a spreadsheet, from an email to Telegram
• Adding an AI step to an automation: text analysis, classification, generating replies

• Week 1: take the beginner level of the free n8n course and build your first simple scenario
• Week 2: plug in AI: create a scenario that analyzes and classifies incoming messages
• Week 3: build a content pipeline: from idea to finished post with one click
• Week 4: find a real person (a friend, a small business) and automate one of their recurring processes

Goal: move from automation to agents, meaning systems that do not just execute steps but choose which step to take.

• Agent reliability: boundaries, checks, human approval for important steps

• Week 1: go through the core part of the Hugging Face Agents course, agent theory with practice
• Week 2: build your first agent in n8n: a chatbot that can search, calculate and answer
• Week 3: add RAG so the agent answers based on your documents
• Week 4: test a real scenario: an agent that answers customer questions or qualifies leads

Goal: build and ship a real, working product with AI tools, no programming degree required.

• Shipping: making your tool available to real users

• Week 1: build 3 small tools in Lovable or Replit: a calculator, a generator, a form. The goal is to train your hands
• Week 2: pick one real problem and describe your product: who will use it, what it will do, what success looks like
• Week 3: build the core functionality with an AI step (for example one that analyzes text, builds a plan or generates replies)
• Week 4: ship it, give it to 10 people to test and fix the 3 most painful issues

• Portfolio and case studies: how to package your 6 months of projects
• How to find your first client or a job that requires AI skills

• Week 1: pick one real business and map its processes: where does AI deliver the biggest value
• Weeks 2 and 3: build a complete system: automation + agent + interface, one that solves a concrete problem for that business
• Week 4: prepare your portfolio: 6 projects, each with the problem, the solution and the result. Publish it and start talking to the market
